| PUTNEY, VT (May 17, 2013) Vermont is taking a lead role in innovative energy production, demonstrated by the introduction of Vermont’s first community-owned solar garden. Leading solar garden developer Clean Energy Collective (CEC) announced that reservations are available for the Putney Community Solar Array, a 147 kW photovoltaic (PV) system under construction in Putney, Vt. that will serve Green Mountain Power (GMP) utility customers. |

| The 588-panel solar garden, being developed with Vermont-based SunFarm Community Solar and Integrated Solar, will make clean renewable energy available to all electricity users in the GMP territory, including renters, those with poorly sighted properties and individuals of all income levels. Solar panel owners in the Putney Community Solar Array will receive all available rebates and tax incentives, as if the system were located on their roof, and will be credited for the power their panels produce directly on their monthly GMP electric bills. |

| CEC’s community solar model leverages economies of scale, along with an optimally-cited and fully maintained array for maximum power production, to deliver the lowest possible price for renewable energy. Consumers also bypass the research, construction, maintenance and ongoing repair of building a costly system of their own. Customers get to maximize the rewards of solar ownership, with the flexibility to have their bill credits move with them as long as they stay within GMP territory, and the ability to sell their panels at any time. |

| Those looking to offset their power usage with solar can buy panels in the Putney Community Solar Array for $813, as few as one panel or enough to fully offset power requirements. To date, over half of the panels in the array have been reserved with construction due to be complete in July. Panel owners will see a power credit on their utility bill as soon as the array goes online in August. While each panel is expected to pay for itself in about 12 years, owners will continue to receive power for 50 years or more. |

| The Putney Community Solar Array will serve individuals, businesses, and non-profits located anywhere in the Green Mountain service territory, including Addison, Bennington, Caledonia, Chittenden, Lamoille, Orange, Washington, Windham, Windsor counties. |
